Blinded in Plain Sight
April 17, 2009

Across the world, the cosmic enemy poses a threat to AWR listener converts. This is a story of those who were traveling into a bordering country in order to attend AWR training sessions so they could learn more about the Adventist Church and help others who were listening to the “Voice of Hope” broadcasts. As the group approached the perimeter, they were spotted by border patrols that started running towards them with their rifles that were also armed with bayonets. The little group of believers stood still—frozen and praying for a way of escape, but not knowing where they could run and hide.

Miraculously, as the patrols were just about on top of them, they suddenly became confused. The police looked around and at each other asking where the group had gone. But there the little band of believers stood – right in front of their attackers! God hid them in plain sight! One of the police shouted, “They went that way.” And so they took off running – in the wrong direction. Our little group proceeded on their journey with gratefulness in their hearts.

I have met some of these people and personally heard them recount many other close calls they have encountered living as new Adventist Christians in their oppressive country.

God and His heavenly armies are shielding His frontline soldiers for battle against the powers of darkness. The Holy Spirit is using AWR to shine the gospel light of hope and salvation to the ends of the earth! He is using ordinary people to do extraordinary things . . . they are people whose names we cannot share in places we cannot specifically disclose without compromising their safety.

Though we cannot name them, God knows each of them by name. Their names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. And through their faithful endurance under pressure, God is bringing many souls to repentance and salvation.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support which enables AWR to broadcast in 75 languages, thousands of hours a day to the hardest-to-reach people groups of the world.

Your partnership allows us to continually increase the number of languages in which we broadcast.
